Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St. Louis, and Steve Sullivan, founder and Managing Partner of CRO Advisors, a specialty consulting firm focused on the Contract Research Organization industry, announced today that they have partnered with management to acquire Microbiology Research Associates, Inc. (MRA) of Acton, Massachusetts. MRA is a provider of microbiology testing services to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, medical device, biotechnology, and healthcare industries. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1993, Microbiology Research Associates (www.mra-bact.com) is a microbiology lab, serving compounding pharmacies, hospitals and cosmetic makers. Its tests include: microbiological examination; sterility; batch release testing; preservative effectiveness; and environmental.
