Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St. Louis, announced today that its portfolio company Marmic Fire & Safety Co. (Marmic) has acquired Chicago, Illinois-based Total Fire & Safety, LLC (TFS), provider of fire and life safety systems, equipment and related services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
TFS (www.totalfireandsafety.com) has been serving its customers for more than 20 years and is one of the leading fire protection and alarm monitoring companies in the Chicago metropolitan area. TFS’s services include testing, maintenance and monitoring of commercial fire alarm, extinguisher and suppression systems.
“TFS is proud to partner with Marmic, not only because of Marmic’s dominant position in the fire protection services industry, but also because of their strong cultural fit with TFS. Cultivating a tight-knit culture and finding the right people has always been a focus for TFS and a key reason for our success throughout the years,” said Glenn Schultz, founder of TFS. “This acquisition will allow TFS to enhance its offering of services with Marmic’s full suite of capabilities. Our companies fit well together because our employees share the same values, including a 100% commitment to customer service. We’re delighted with the outcome of the transaction and the opportunity to join the Marmic family.”
According to Michael Teeter, Marmic CEO, “This is a strategic acquisition that allows Marmic to now serve customers in the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding regions, further establishing Marmic’s position as one of the largest self-performing companies in the fire safety industry. We are excited to partner with the TFS team and are committed to continue growing the successful business Glenn and his team have built.”
