Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St. Louis, MO, announced today that its portfolio company Transnetyx, Inc. has acquired Springfield, Illinois-based BrainBits® LLC (BrainBits), a provider of central nervous system cell and tissue samples and essential growth and storage media. BrainBits was a portfolio company of MPG Equity Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
BrainBits (www.brainbitsllc.com) provides researchers the exact piece of never-frozen tissue to be studied, shortening the time to discovery and increasing the quality and consistency of the tissue and media procurement.
