TierPoint, LLC (TierPoint), a Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP) portfolio company, today announced the acquisition of AlteredScale, a Chicago-based provider of data center services including cloud, colocation and managed services. The 107,000-square-foot facility has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades since being purchased by AlteredScale in 2011 and today includes approximately 25,000 square feet of data center space. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Chicago adds an important market to our national data center footprint, strengthening our presence in the Midwest,” said Jerry Kent, Chairman and CEO of TierPoint. “This acquisition was precipitated by significant customer interest in TierPoint expanding to Chicago and we have already begun installing the infrastructure for a long-term major client. It’s a great market, top ten in tech startups, and I believe our focus on providing unrivaled service and local support will be well received in Chicago,” said Kent.
The acquisition is the eleventh for TierPoint, LLC. TierPoint now owns and operates more than 550,000 square feet of data center space in 20 U.S. markets.”
